Purpose of the Manual

This manual will:

• Describe the accepted OHS Risk Management System as applied to ergonomics.  This includes emphasis o­n the Internal Responsibility System.
• Describe the way in which the OHS Risk Management Model will be applied in managing ergonomic hazards and risks as well as quality, productivity & efficiencies in all work environments.
• Promote the application of the OHS Risk Management Model with the Internal Ergonomics Program™ for the management of the ergonomics hazards and risks for all employers in Canada.

The Internal Ergonomic Program™ Manual will not tell you that you must duplicate this process to solve ergonomic problems in your workplace.  It will provide you with some tools & direction to assist you in developing and implementing an effective prevention program.  The IEP™ manual is an adjunct to be used with the OPC Inc Ergo Program Audit software which can be purchased through OPC Inc. at www.OptimalPerformance.ca or 888-768-2106.

Target Audience

The IEP™ Manual is designed to be used as a reference source fr an OHN, OH & S Manager, HR Professionals, engineers, designers, facility managers who are responsible for ergonomics, preventing and return to work in the workplace.  The target audience for the program development will be:  senior managers, EOH & S managers, health and safety committees, health and safety representatives, ergonomic eommittees and a Ergo Teams, engineers, designers and facility mangers.  The manual is intended to be used with the software.  In order to  provide reliable data, the user should not proceed until the he has reviewed the contents of this manual.
